HI-IQ Tips & Techniques

We are pleased to announce that The Advisory Board Company has recognized HI-IQ as a software solution that helps achieve operational efficiency in the interventional radiology department. In their recent Imaging Performance Partnership report, The Advisory Board Company assessed the current state of interventional radiology, identifying Operational Efficiency as one of the four burning issues facing IR. The report goes on to describe the characteristics of a robust IR program, including “bolstering program efficiency” and specifically “real-time procedure tracking” as key components. HI-IQ was singled out as a software solution for real-time intelligence, meeting the IR department's need to refine operational processes.

The Advisory Board Company is a leading health care services firm providing best practices research and implementation services in business strategy and clinical operations. Serving the country's preeminent hospitals, health care systems, pharmaceutical companies and insurers, The Advisory Board provides executive education, strategic planning and decision facilitation, and process redesign and improvement services through its membership practice and H*Works implementation service.

HI-IQ has been designed by interventional radiologists, for interventional radiologists, and there’s no question that it could not have achieved this distinction from The Advisory Board Company without input from users like you. Many thanks for your contribution to HI-IQ’s success, and we look forward to continuing to support your robust IR program into the future.

The very components of HI-IQ that were recognized by The Advisory Board Company were also discussed in-depth during the 2007 Society of Imagining Informatics meeting. Dr. Keith Horton of Washington Hospital Center delivered a presentation entitled Procedure Room workflow. This session discussed the current state of workflow in both the Interventional Suite and its environment including information gathering, patient scheduling, results presentation and reporting. HI-IQ is presented as an example of a practice coordination tool.
