March 1, 2015
New software platform features enhanced enterprise integration and user interface
ATLANTA – (March 1, 2015) – HI-IQ®, the leader in workflow solutions for interventional radiology departments, today announced the release of HI-IQ IRIS, a more modern, integrated and user friendly version of its HI-IQ software platform. HI-IQ IRIS introduces productivity-enhancing features such as an intuitive browser-based interface and enhanced interoperability, including interfaces with hospital information systems (HIS), electronic medical records (EMR), radiology information systems (RIS) and inventory procurement systems.
“HI-IQ IRIS helps me track the value of the care I provide. I use it to monitor outcomes, radiation doses and follow-ups,” says Dr. Anthony Eclavea of Radiology Associates, Appleton, Wis. “As the medical environment migrates from traditional quantitative metrics to quality measures, HI-IQ has consistently offered both features for the past decade. Driven by quality and known performance, HI-IQ IRIS provides a dependable, standard-setting platform for adapting to the future.”
HI-IQ’s announcement was made at the Society for Interventional Radiology’s (SIR) Annual Meeting. Developed in collaboration with SIR, HI-IQ is the only commercially available software platform endorsed by SIR as its preferred solution for meeting the needs of its members and the needs of interventional radiology practices.
Hundreds of hospitals of all sizes across the country already use the original HI-IQ platform to streamline patient scheduling and tracking; proactively manage both the inventory and QA processes; ensure charge capture and billing accuracy; and maximize room and other resource utilization.
With improved integration through inbound and outbound interfaces, HI-IQ IRIS increases department productivity by allowing critical information to flow seamlessly among systems thereby reducing the possibility of data duplication and errors between systems. The new user interface simplifies user interaction with role-based data access and easy-to-use dashboards.
HI-IQ IRIS, which will be available to all HI-IQ users at no additional charge, enables interventional radiology departments to:
- Capture and report comprehensive patient, procedural and inventory data and analyze patient outcomes
- Improve the quality assurance process and remain compliant with quality improvement initiatives
- Schedule and track patients in conjunction with enterprise scheduling systems, including automated follow-up reminders
- Manage and track inventory in conjunction with enterprise-wide inventory ordering system, including the use of just in time inventory management
- Mine data for actionable intelligence that can help refine operational processes and improve workflow efficiencies

The HI-IQ software platform is subscription-based and can be hosted remotely by HI-IQ or installed on premise. The HI-IQ IRIS hosted platform, a robust and secure environment for managing interventional radiology practices, is designed to provide maximum performance, security and up-time to ensure anytime, anywhere access.
“With more than 20 years of providing solutions for interventional radiology departments, HI-IQ understands interventional radiology workflows and challenges more than any other vendor,” said Sue Holzer, Executive Director of SIR. “Taking into account current SIR best practices, industry standards and future requirements, HI-IQ IRIS is designed to adapt and scale to the evolving interventional radiology practice.”
